Palworld presents itself as the ' Pokémon with weapons ' and is proving to be a game that is catching the attention, especially since it became available on Steam. The question that is on many players' minds: Is Palworld playable on the Steam Deck and if so, what are the best settings?
The answer is a bit mixed. Valve rates Palworld as "playable" on the Steam Deck, but a verified rating is pending.
Settings for Palworld on the Steam Deck
We have tested the best graphics settings for Palworld on the Steam Deck for you and are currently really happy with them:
- Max. FPS: No limitation
- Vsync: Off
- Motion Blur: Off
- Antialiasing: TSR
- Visibility: Medium
- Grass details: Medium
- Shadow: Medium
- Effect quality: Medium
- Texture quality: Medium
- Field of view: 90
With these settings, one can achieve a solid framerate of 35-40 FPS , depending on the screen activity. While this is acceptable when gaming, there are moments when performance becomes unstable. We do not recommend setting the settings to high graphics quality , as this can lower the framerate to around 20-25 FPS.
Navigation in the initial menu could be improved, but often requires the use of the touchscreen. In the game itself, everything is well-aligned with a standard controller layout, so no changes to the controls need to be made.
Due to the game's insane success, optimization updates are sure to follow, improving performance on handhelds as well.
Have fun gaming!
