Use Windows natively, play in desktop mode or even play full-fledged shooters - with a mouse and keyboard, it's no longer a problem.
Steam Deck & ROG Ally with mouse & keyboard
Bluetooth-compatible:
If you have a wireless mouse and keyboard, you can pair them in your Bluetooth settings. If you are unsure how to put your mouse and keyboard into pairing mode, you should read the respective user manual. If the mouse and keyboard are visible, you will find them in the list of available Bluetooth devices and can then establish the connection.
(You may need to go back to the Bluetooth settings after restarting the console to re-establish the connection.)
Wired:
If you want to connect a mouse and keyboard via cable, you have several options - but you rarely get around additional hardware.
- A mouse or keyboard with a USB-C connector - If you have a mouse or keyboard that has a USB-C connector instead of the classic USB-A connector, you can plug it directly into your handheld and get started.
- Use a USB-C hub - If you have a mouse or keyboard with a normal USB-A connector, you can use a USB-C hub, which offers you several USB-A ports. You can then connect your mouse and keyboard to this.
- Use a docking station - A docking station works similarly to a hub, but is specially designed for your handheld. You can use it to operate a mouse & keyboard, connect an external monitor or even an external hard drive. On top of that, the docking station serves as a stand for your Steam Deck or ROG Ally.
